Dear Editor:
Re: “Symposia Bookstore, Standing in Gratitude and Hope”. Former Mayor David Roberts and his family, owners of the property on Washington Street where Symposia is located, cannot be thanked enough for keeping the rent modest, and not raising it, for a decade, thus allowing this wonderful community bookstore to stay open and flourish.

If Symposia had had a more conventional landlord, the rent would have been raised and one of Hoboken’s treasures would have had to close its doors. We all know what a pleasure it is to walk by and see the tables outdoors, full of affordable books.
