SHELTON, EILEEN ELIZABETH

Private funeral services have been held for Eileen Elizabeth Shelton, 71. She passed away May 4 at Jersey City Medical Center following a battle with cancer and the Coronavirus. Eileen, daughter of Horace Shelton and Elizabeth Shelton (née Cupkova), was born in Jersey City, along with her fraternal twin sister, Irene McCuin (née Shelton). Elieen shared her youth with her four brothers and two sisters and graduated from Lincoln High School where she captained the cheerleading team. She was a beautiful, bright, witty soul that spoke honestly and encouraged healthy competition. She worked as a clerk in Jersey City and Manhattan until marrying Joseph Michael Kuleszynski at Vroom Street Church and becoming a full-time mother to her son Joseph Ezra Kuleszynski. As a mother, Eileen focused on bringing the teachings of the Bible to her son, family, and community and lived in the innocence of the Lord’s grace, caring for her younger brother Michael. Recently, she lived in the care of Magnificat Home, attended Our Lady of Sorrows every Sunday, and enjoyed lunches with her son and daughter-in-law. Her spirit lives on strongly with those she met, loved, and will see again in heaven. Eileen survived her maternal grandparents, Andrej and Barbar Cupkova; paternal grandparents, James and Muncie Shelton; parents, Horace (Elizabeth) Shelton; and older brother, Lee Shelton. Her living family will miss her dearly: son, Joseph Ezra (Jaclyn Anne) Kuleszynski; brothers, James Shelton, Joseph (Pam) Shelton, and Michael Shelton; sisters, Barbara Fraga (née Shelton) and Irene (Nicholes) McCuin (née Shelton); nieces and nephews, Christopher, Steven, Kim, Michael, Eric, Christian, Damien, Genevieve, Peter, Michele, Renee, Jesse, Sean, Andrea, Mary, Benjamin, Jason, and Hannah; and other generations of kin; Her former husband Joseph Michael Kuleszynski also shares in her loss. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City
