A Celebration of Life is planned for next year for Aloysius Thomas Calnan, 93. He died peacefully on May 17. Born in Secaucus in 1926, he was lifelong resident of the community. During WW2 he joined the Navy and signed up for the reserves in the 1950’s. He owned and operated Snappy’s Exxon Service Center in North Bergen for over sixty years. Serving the community, and as a Kiwanis Committee member, he was an original proponent and advocate for the municipal pool in Secaucus. His wife, Frances, predeceased him, and he is survived by his children, Candace Caponegro, Judith Ciaccia, Debra Mosca, and Thomas Calnan, plus 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
