As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the primary election in New Jersey has been moved moved from June to July 7, mostly using vote by mail.
To ensure that all voters get a chance to cast their ballots, local officials are taking additional steps.
The Office of the Hudson County Clerk Division of Elections will offer extended hours to any voter who has not received a ballot and wishes to cast a vote.
Extended office hours
The extended office hours will take place on June 17, 18, and 20. On Wednesday, June 17 the Clerk’s Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
On Thursday, June 18, the office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. And on Saturday, June 20 the office will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Clerk’s office is at Hudson County Plaza, 257 Cornelison Avenue in Jersey City, on the 4th Floor.
No appointment is necessary. However, all must wear masks in accordance with CDC guidelines on COVID-19.
Voters must bring a valid NJ-issued identification card that contains a photo, address, and signature. This can be a state, government, or local ID. The address on the ID must match the ballot address.
