Stanley Lindwasser
February 17, 1947-May 3, 2020
Stan, a resident of Beacon for four years, died on May 3 in his home in Beacon NY of pulmonary fibrosis, with his wife and children nearby.
Stan was an extremely prolific painter for over 50 years; his last solo show was in Beacon in 2019. His works, both large and small, were painted with acrylics on canvas. These works evoked in the viewer landscapes, sky, water, rocks, and mountains. He also showed in Soho, Manhattan galleries and in Hoboken, NJ. He was a member of Hob’Arts.
Born in Brooklyn, Stan lived Forest Hills, NY and Hoboken, NJ (at 310 Hudson Street) until coming to the Hudson Valley with his wife, Helen Crohn. Stan was known all over Hoboken because he took his beloved dog, Rembrandt the white shit-tsu for long walks in the city.
Stan said he wanted to continue painting as long as he could; he produced his last works in April 2020. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, and three grandchildren.
