A memorial mass will be announced at a later date to celebrate the life George DeGulis, 62, and his late wife Laura. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at home with his family on June 4. George, known to many, as Georgie Doll. He suffered tremendously after his lovely wife, Laura, died suddenly two years ago. They were true soul mates. He fought multiple health issues courageously for many months and eventually succumbed to them. George was born on December 15, 1957. A lifelong resident of Jersey City. He attended Our Lady of Mercy Grammar school in the Greenville section. He also attended Snyder and Marist high schools. George worked at Gabco Refrigeration for many years. He also enjoyed playing guitar in multiple rock bands, Ladallian, Scream, Contagious, Zhan and NVUS. He was a devout follower of KISS and Greta Van Fleet. One of the highlights of George’s life was when his friend, Danny Levecchia, took him to see a Greta Van Fleet concert. That was all George talked about when he came home. Dan said George was one of a kind and spoke of how he always made everyone laugh with his humorous comments and antics. George was predeceased by his wife Laura, His parents, Julius and Eleanor, his brother Henry, and his sister Elly Burik. He is survived by his brother Frank, Julie, friend Darrell Hartye and Roger, their dog. George and Laura loved their many friends. They would share the most hilarious stories about them when they played at different clubs. George and Laura’s favorite saying was: Live, laugh Love.
