A man who allegedly committed a series of burglaries and thefts on Hoboken’s west side was committed to the Hudson County Correctional Facility after he was transferred into the custody of the Hoboken Police Department by the Jersey City Police Department on June 25.
According to a press release from the Hoboken Police Department, Jersey City resident Juan Jimenez, 42, was wanted for seven separate incidents of burglary and theft from June 6 until June 24.
On June 6 at 11:52 a.m. Officer Wilfredo Gomez received a report from a victim residing in the area of First and Jackson streets after Jimenez allegedly entered the victim’s building and opened several packages at about 4:44 a.m. that day. Jimenez allegedly took the contents of the packages and left. Officer Gomez charged Jimenez with Burglary and Theft.
On June 9 at 12;07 a.m. Officer Joseph Spano received a report from a resident residing in the area of Paterson Plank Road and Monroe Street. The resident reported that he found several packages open in the lobby area of his building. Officer Connor Milne was assigned to the investigation and learned that the previous evening at about 10:10 p.m. Jimenez allegedly used a tool to pry his way into the lobby allegedly proceeded to open packages and remove the contents. He then entered the garage and allegedly attempting to break the lock off of a bicycle but he was unsuccessful and left the area. For this incident, Jimenez was charged with Burglary, Theft, Burglar Tools, Criminal Mischief, and Criminal Attempt Theft.
On June 19 at 4:16 p.m. Officer Harry Montalvo received a report from a resident residing in the area of First and Jackson streets. Officer Montalvo learned that on June 16, at about 4:49 a.m., Jimenez allegedly entered the garage of a building by following a resident who was pulling into the garage with his/her vehicle. Jimenez then allegedly took a bicycle and made his way into the lobby and allegedly removed a package. The officer also learned that on June 19 at about 1 a.m. Jimenez allegedly forced his way into the building and made his way to the lobby. He then allegedly entered the garage and left with a bicycle. Jimenez was charged with burglary and theft for these two incidents.
On June 22, at 5:34 p.m. Officer Harold Milne received a report from a resident residing in the area of Eighth and Grand streets. The resident reported that on the morning of June 17 he noticed damage to the entrance door and suspected that packages were removed from the lobby. Officer Milne learned that on June 17 at about 3:22 a.m. Jimenez allegedly entered through the damaged door and removed several packages. Jimenez was charged with Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief.
On June 23, at 6:23 p.m., Officer Shelby Seickendick received a report from victims residing in the area of Seventh and Grand streets. Officer Seickendick learned that on June 23, at about 4:13 p.m. Jimenez allegedly entered the garage area and allegedly took a bicycle belonging to one of the victims. He returned at about 5:50 p.m. and allegedly took another bicycle also kept in the garage. Jimenez was charged with Burglary and Theft for this incident.
On June 24, at about 7:55 a.m., Officer Jonathan Lyons received a report from a building maintenance worker of several packages he found open and empty. Officer Lyons learned that on June 24, at about 12:39 a.m., Jimenez allegedly approached the building on a black bicycle and entered the lobby area of a building located in the area of 13th and Adams streets. Once in the lobby he allegedly tampered and removed several packages before entering the garage and allegedly removed a red bicycle from the garage. He rode off on the black bicycle he arrived on allegedly holding onto the red bicycle. Jimenez was charged with Burglary and Theft for this incident.
On June 25, Jimenez was processed on all the charges and was committed to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
He is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
