A Jersey City man was arrested and charged with trespassing at the 16th Street Pool, police said.
Jeremiah Footman, 18, was charged with defiant trespass, obstruction of a governmental function, and resisting arrest, according to the Bayonne Police Department.
Footman was taken into custody at approximately 5:42 p.m. from the area of West 16th Street. Officers responded to the DiDomenico Pool on a report of tresspassers in the pool.
During the investigation, officers located a male, later identified as Footman, in the pool and ordered him to remain as they gained entry to further their investigation.
Footman allegedly disregarded their commands and attempted to jump the fence and flee, police said.
Footman was apprehended and resisted arrest by refusing to show his hands as he reached for his waistband. He continued to resist by laying on his hands as officers attempted to handcuff him.
Officers were eventually able to place him in handcuffs and transport him to headquarters for processing. Two officers suffered minor injuries as a result of the struggle, according to authorities.
