A Celebration of Life service took place June 29 at Soul Saving Church of God in Christ, Jersey City, for Bahiya M. Staggers. She passed away June 19. She was born on June 17, 1974 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the Late Mary Elizabeth Evans and the Late James “Jimmy” Carter. She was the youngest of eight children. Bahiya was a long-time resident of Jersey City, before moving to Ohio in 2018. Bahiya was the mother of five children. She worked in retail for many years at both Macy’s and Toys R Us, in Jersey City, New Jersey until June 2018. Bahiya leaves to cherish precious memories her sons: Jamal Jimmy Staggers & James Timmy Staggers (twins), and Mark Anthony Staggers; Daughters: Zahkiera Mary Staggers and Nyeara Bahiya Staggers; Grandchildren: Janaisia White, Zakiyah Reason, Jamyila, Jamal, Jamil and Jamier Staggers; Grandmother: Anne Funchess; Brother: Elisha Staggers; Sisters: Stephanie (Daniel) Carter-Johnson, Cynthia (John) Clements-Jackson, Diane Farmer, Moszell Staggers, Rosetta (Lonny) Hill, Bahja Staggers; and a host of neices, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by Mother: Mary Evans-Farmer, Father: James Carter; Brothers: Joenathan Staggers, James and Barry Carter; Grandfathers: Willlard Evans and Willie Carter; Grandmother: Synia Carter; aunts and uncles.
