Hoboken asks residents to stay home during tropical storm

Tropical Storm Fay is currently impacting the tri-state area with heavy rain, and a flash flood warning is currently in effect from the National Weather Service.

Hoboken’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) advises residents to avoid going outdoors or driving if possible as low-lying areas in Hoboken may be experiencing flooding even though Hoboken’s flood pumps are currently operational.

OEM has placed barricades on certain streets and is monitoring the situation for additional potential road closures.

Street cleaning is suspended for the rest of Friday.

Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, resulting in power outages.

To report power outages and downed wires to PSEG go to https://nj.myaccount.pseg.com/myservicepublic/outagepublic.

To report flooded intersections and clogged drain inlets call the NHSA Hotline at 866-689-3970.
