Private funeral services have taken place for Exi M. Parrales-Baque, 66, of Jersey City. She passed away peacefully on June 24 at Bayonne Medical Center. Born and raised on a farm in Equador, Exi enjoyed taking long walks in the forests and spending time listening to Ecuadorian style music. In 2013 she came to the United States, settling in Jersey City. Exi was a clerical worker for the Century 21 Department Stores Distribution in Secaucus, NJ, where she was a valued employee for 4 years. With a love for children, Exi worked for the Department of Recreation in Union City under the direction of Mayor Brian Stack, where she assisted with summer camp and other recreational programs. Exi treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She will be deeply missed and remembered as an extraordinary woman of strength and independence. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Carlos Santamaria, her daughter Gregoria Magdalena Billafverte, her sons, Juan Javier Parrales and Valadermar Iza, sisters, Rosa Parrales, Milbe Ponce Baque, and Carmen Ponce Baque, brothers, Roberto Rodriguez, and Pedro Moran Baque; and her 10 adored grandchildren. Services arranged Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne.
