A Bayonne man was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man in the neck on July 18.
Jarrett Bell was taken into custody at 9:41 p.m. from the area of Bayonne Medical Center.
Officers responded to the area of West First Street on a report of a panic alarm. Officers located the victim, 26, who displayed a laceration to his neck.
The victim stated that during an altercation with Bell over a personal matter, Bell allegedly stabbed him in the neck and fled the scene. The victim was transported to the Bayonne Medical Center to be treated.
While officers were at the medical center, they observed a male matching the description of Bell outside the medical center. The male, later identified as Bell, was there to be treated for a laceration to his forearm and finger.
Officers began an investigation and determined that Bell was the alleged suspect and placed him under arrest.
During the arrest process, it was learned that Bell was wanted on 34 outstanding warrants, all issued out of Bayonne, Hoboken, and Jersey City. He was processed accordingly, police said.
Bell was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
