Mega Millions jackpot winning ticket sold in Bayonne

The winner has a year to claim their prize.

The only Mega Millions jackpot winning ticket from the drawing on July 24 was sold in Hudson County, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James A. Carey Jr. announced.

Carey congratulated Brenda’s Inc. on 110 Kennedy Blv. in Bayonne, the retailer that sold this winning ticket.

The winning numbers for the Friday, July 24 drawing are: 08, 33, 39, 54, and 58. The Gold Mega Ball is 17, and the Megaplier is 03. The jackpot winner will receive an estimated $124,000,000 annuity or $100,800,000 in cash.

A winning streak

“Our 50th Anniversary year has found us on a success streak,” Carey said. “In February it was the $202 million Mega Millions jackpot, in April the $190 million Powerball jackpot, earlier in July it was the CASH4LIFE $1,000 a day for life jackpot, and now our second Mega Millions jackpot. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us.”

The winner has one year from the date of the drawing to file a claim.

Eighteen other players matched four of the five white balls drawn making each ticket worth $500. Two of those tickets were purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prize to $1,500. Moreover, 23,995 other New Jersey players took home $103,222 in prizes, ranging from $2 to $600, according to Carey.

“Congratulations, to the winner of this multi-million-dollar jackpot! We encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket, make a copy of both sides and put it in a safe place, and contact Lottery Headquarters at 609-599-5875 to arrange to file a claim for this ‘MEGA’ jackpot prize,” Carey said.

According to the New Jersey Lottery, a press event is being planned to present the lucky retailer with it bonus commission check of $30,000.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 46 participating jurisdictions. Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.
