GOLECKI, STEPHEN T.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Aedan’s: The Saint Peter’s University Church on July 29 for Stephen T. Golecki, 72, of Jersey City. He passed away on July 24 at the Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff. Born in Bayonne, Stephen was a graduate of Bayonne High School. He worked as a Senior Identifications Officer in the BCI Unit of the Jersey City Police Department for 48 years before retiring in 2019. He also worked as a photojournalist for the Jersey Journal and Star Ledger from 1969-1990. Stephen was an avid photographer and often enjoyed bike riding, going for walks and taking day trips over to New York. He had an affinity for trains and buses and was an extremely knowledgeable person in all areas, especially municipal government. Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Sophie (née Polakowski) Golecki. He is survived by his dear stepsister, Linda Lorusso and loving nephew, Matthew Dillon (JCPD). Also survived by many cousins. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
