New Argentinian restaurant opens on Broadway
Officials and business leaders took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Choripan Authentic Argentinian Grill at 27th Street and Broadway.
Another winning lottery ticket
One ticket matched all six numbers for the August 10, Pick-6 drawing, netting the $4.9 million annuity jackpot, with a cash value of more than $4.3 million.
The ticket was sold at S. Yellow Rose on 375 Kennedy Blvd. The retailer will receive $10,000 for selling the ticket.
This marks the third time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic that a winning lottery ticket has been sold in Bayonne.
9/11 ceremony cancelled
The September 11th Bayonne Remembers Committee will not hold a memorial ceremony this year due to COVID-19.
Gullace undergoes another surgery
Bayonne Second Ward City Councilman Sal Gullace remains hospitalized for multiple surgeries after sustaining a leg injury from an accident involving a garbage truck while working with the Hudson County Improvement Authority on July 24.
He was scheduled for another surgery on Aug. 13.
Summer Sounds concert rescheduled
2020 Summer Sounds by the Bay musical event featuring the Large Flowerheads has has been rescheduled for September 2, at 7 p.m. on the lower level of DiDomenico-16th Street Park.

Jersey City man arrested for noise violation
Mean Soliman, 21, from Jersey City, was recently arrested at 16th Street Park after allegedly violating the noise ordinance by yelling, because the park was closed.
As officers attempted to issue him a summons, he attempted to walk away.
He was charged with obstructing a Governmental Function.
