INGRAM, LOUISE ELVIRA BASSETT

Funeral services were held Aug. 1 for Louise Elvira Bassett Ingram, 80. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Jersey City Medical Center on Aug. 5. Born in Charles City, VA to the late George and Louise Bassett, Louise attended Ruthville High School and graduated from Snyder High School in 1959 after moving to Jersey City. She worked as a secretary for William Grant and Sons in Edison for over 40 years before retiring. Louise was a devout member of St. John’s Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She often enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, loved to shop and had an affinity for music. Louise also enjoyed spending time with her family. Louise is the sister of Bettie Roundtree, Irene Thomas and Charles Roy Bassett and the late Burrell Bassett, Marie Lewis, Elizabeth Brooks, Eunice Bassett, George Warren Bassett and Ann Jones. aunt to a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Sister-in-law of Ella, Darlene and Ernestine Bassett. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
