GARGIULO, GRACE MICHELINA

Funeral services took place Aug. 21 at St. Aedan’s Church in Jersey City for Grace Michelina Gargiulo, 92, of Jersey City/North Palm Beach, Fla. She passed away on Aug. 11. Born to Peter and Elizabeth Simeone on April 27, 1928, Grace went on to graduate from Notre Dame College, Staten Island in 1949. Her proudest accomplishment was her family and the children she nurtured with her husband of 65 years, Anthony Gargiulo. Grace taught Social Studies at St. Aloysius High School in Jersey City and led an engaging classroom. She was passionate about the world and traveling, and also enjoyed her time reading, knitting, and baking. Grace is survived by her dear sister, Michelina MacGregor, her dear sisters-in-law Rosalie Maguire and Elizabeth Valenzola, her beloved children, Louis (Gloria) Gargiulo, Michelina (Alan) Cirello, Maria-Grace (Thomas) DiCondina, Peter (Kate) Gargiulo, Bettina (Donald) Kretz, and her many adored 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her loving parents, devoted husband Anthony, and beloved daughters Lisa Gargiulo and Celia Gargiulo. Services arranged by Lawton-Turso Funeral Home, Hoboken.
