REGINO VEGA de JESUS

Funeral services took place Aug. 25 for Regino Vega de Jesus, 92, a long-time resident of Jersey City. He passed away Aug. 20. Regino was born and raised in Cayey, Puerto Rico, where he was married to the late Carmen Vega Bonilla and started his family. He brought his family to New Jersey for better opportunities, as he was a bodega owner on Fifth Street, Jersey City. He was an avid fan of boxing and baseball, a passion that passed on to his sons and grandchildren. A man of a few words, he used his energy and voice to translate to a hard work ethic to support his family over the years. As most have hobbies, his goals were set to ensure that his descendants have the life he couldn’t. Regino is survived by his four daughters; Crisitina, Edith, Olga and Jannise; and his 2 sons; Trinidad and Gilberto. Along with his numerous and cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
