Dear Editor:
I see that Hoboken is initiating legal action against “Big Oil” for its contribution to climate change and the resulting impact on our city. The article, “Threatening Hoboken’s Very Existence,” goes on to say that, according to the city, litigation will come at no expense to local taxpayers – which would be great!
Now, the question becomes – who will be covering our legal fees, which could become rather significant? Having lived in Hudson Country for quite some time, I have come to learn that nothing is ever “free” and there is more often a back story to be shared. Before getting too excited about this, I would like to know a bit more about who is picking up the tab.
