BFD promotions

On Oct. 1, the BFD promoted Chris Stanul and Ed Ratyniak to the rank of Captain, and Bryan Stanislawski and Tim Fitzsimmonsto to the rank of Battalion Chief.

Food distributions

The Day By Day Christian Ministries and Messiah Vision of New Jersey will offer a Free Food Distribution Program every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.

The program will take place on October 10 and 24 at 11 a.m. at DBDNJ Worship Center, 182 Avenue E.

Dine Out Shop Out

Outdoor dining and entertainment events on Broadway will take place October 9 and 15 from 5 to 10 p.m.

On October 9, it will take place from 41st to 45th Streets. Rain date October 10. Live music by Keith Borelli and Bennett Rhode.

On October 15, it will take place from 33rd to 38th Streets. Rain date October 16. Live music by Doc Watson and Lisel Cox.

Masks must be worn, and social distancing must be observed.

Teen arrested after alleged attempted robbery

A male, 17,Β  from Bayonne was arrested after an alleged attempted robbery on Sept. 26, according to the BPD.

The victim, 43, said an individual, later identified as Juvenile 1, allegedly entered his yard on West 31st Street, attempting to remove the victim’s electric bicycle. The juvenile allegedly brandished a flip-blade style knife.

During processing, the juvenile allegedly provided a false address of his parents.

Golf outing

The United Cerebral Palsy of Hudson County: The Frank Tutu Memorial Golf Outing,Β benefiting Pediatric Medical Daycare in Bayonne will be held on October 20.

Man arrested afterΒ street fight

Shyrief Borders, of Bayonne, was taken into custody on Sept. 27 at 990 Broadway, the Room 990 Bar and Lounge, where a group was fighting in the street, according to the BPD.

Borders allegedly argued with and shouted at officers. Arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, Borders is innocent until proven guilty.

Alleged Attempted auto burglary

Carlos Miller of Jersey City was arrested on Sept. 27 for allegedly attempting to break into a car near 53rd Street and Avenue B, according to the BPD.

Arrested for attempted burglary, Miller is innocent until proven guilty.
