On Friday, Oct. 9 The Hudson Regional Health Commission and the New Jersey DEP Office of Mosquito Control Coordination will conduct mosquito control operations in parts of Hudson County.
They will deploy larvicides via helicopters at a low altitude starting at 7:30 a.m.
According to a map of the county tweeted by The Hudson Regional Health Commission, it appears the operation will occur at several open spaces throughout Hudson County, including Liberty State Park and locations in Secaucus.
According to a robocall to Jersey City residents from Mayor Steven Fulop, the CDC said the larvicide does not pose a risk to human health or the environment, and staying inside is not necessary during the mosquito population control measure.
