THOMAS BIRKNER

A funeral mass was offered Sept. 30 at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hoboken, for Thomas Birkner of Sea Girt, 71. He died Sept. 24. Born in New York City, his family moved to Hoboken where he lived most of his life. Mr. Birkner graduated from Our Lady of Grace Grammar School and Hoboken High School. He was a mechanic at Haase Oldsmobile and then moved to The Port of Authority where he worked for 30 years. Thomas was predeceased by his father Edward Birkner and his mother Elizabeth nee O’Neil. He is survived by his brother Edward Birkner of Toms River and his childhood friend David Cace of Sea Girt. Services arranged by the Earl F. Bosworth Funeral Home, Hoboken.
