Law enforcement arrested a Jersey City man after he allegedly sexually assaulted a minor two years ago.
According to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, on Oct. 9, at approximately 12:40 p.m., members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Darious Dickey, 21, of Jersey City, on charges involving the sexual assault of a 14-year-old female in 2018.
He was arrested without incident at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City.
The alleged sexual assault occurred in a residential building on Ocean Avenue in Jersey City on Feb. 17, 2018, and the alleged perpetrator, Dickey, was arrested following an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office SVU.
Dickey is reportedly an acquaintance of the victim, according to the HCPO.
He is charged with Sexual Assault, a second-degree crime; Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a third-degree crime; and Criminal Sexual Contact, a fourth-degree crime.
Following his arrest, Dickey was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Center in Kearny pending his first appearance.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest.
The above charges are merely accusations. Dickey is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
