Tempest Productions offers virtual theater this fall

The StoryBook Theatre will debut a new video every Sunday

Tempest Production’s StoryBook Theatre Fall 2020 continues its celebration of arts in education by offering a new program every week. Due to COVID-19, the productions have gone virtual.

The free videos will be posted at 1 p.m. on Sundays and will be available throughout the fall.

From read-alongs to creative drama workshops, these programs are designed for PreK-Grade 2 to be used in the home, classrooms, libraries, and community centers. The programs can be vieed at www.tempestproductions.org or on YouTube.

Tempest has free teacher guides and art activities that can be used along with the videos. Email info@tempestproductions.org.

What’s playing

“StoryTime with Mrs B: Silly Sally” by Audrey Wood kicked off the fall lineup on Oct. 11.

Oct. 18 features “Bringing Poems to Life: Silly Street” by Jeff Foxworthy.

The next show is on Oct. 25, featuring “The Magic Hat” by Mem Fox.

“A Pirate’s Life for Me!” will air on Nov. 1; “StoryTime with Mrs B: Thank You Amelia Bedelia” by Peggy Parish on Nov. 8; “Sing Along with Miss Judy” on Nov. 15; “There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie!” on Nov. 22; and “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak on Nov 29.

The lineup ends in December with “StoryTime with Mrs. B: No Jumping on the Bed” by Tedd Arnold on Dec. 6 and “Holiday Tales from Around the World” on Dec. 13.

Tempest Productions was formed in 1996, based in Manhattan and Hudson County with a P.O. Box in Bayonne.

This program is made possible by a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a division of the Department of State, and administered by the Hudson County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, Thomas A. DeGise, Hudson County Executive and the Hudson County Board of Commissioners.
