The Hoboken Business Alliance (HBA) has announced its Shop and Dine Passport Programs to encourage the community to support local businesses as they recover from the ongoing pandemic.

The programs, which run through Nov. 6, feature weekend Sidewalk Sales and a two-week Food Crawl.

Both programs let customers collect stamps in their Passports with each visit to any of 75 participating Hoboken restaurants and retailers. Once five or more stamps are earned, customers will have the chance to win $4,000 in gift card prizes to the participating business of their choice.

“Now more than ever, many people are missing their normal routines or trips they’re not able to take,” said Gregory Dell’Aquila, president of the HBA. “However, with so many wonderful eateries and shops in the Mile Square, locals and visitors alike can always discover new places to enjoy and explore.”

“Hoboken has always been about community, and the businesses are what keep our town thriving. That’s why we’re excited to give back and offer everyone even more reasons to shop and dine locally here in Hoboken.”

 Sidewalk sales

During designated weekends, 27 retailers will display their merchandise outside as part of HBA’s Sidewalk Sales Passport Program unless there is inclement weather, in which case the sale will continue inside.

Visitors to the stores can request a Passport stamp with no purchase necessary.

Once five or more stamps are collected, participants can turn in their completed Passports for the chance to win one of the 12 gift card prizes totaling $1,500.

Collecting 10 stamps doubles the chance to win.

HBA will announce two grand prize winners and 10 second-place winners by Nov.13, who will respectively receive a $250 and $100 gift certificate, to the participating retailer of their choice.

The HBA will notify Sidewalk Sale Passport winners directly.

The Sidewalk Sale is scheduled for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from, Oct. 30-31, and Nov. 1.

Participating businesses include Athleta, Galatea, Big Fun Toys, City Paint & Ace Hardware, Washington General Store, Fleet Feet, Little Hoboken, and Tunes, to name a few.

Food crawl

Fifty-two eateries will offer $10 specials during the Food Crawl Passport Program through Nov.6.

The $10 specials range from slices, sandwiches, and Italian specialties at local pizzerias and delis to crave-worthy fare like wings, wine, pasta, smoothies, and many more comfort food classics.

Customers can enjoy a $10 special or any regularly priced menu item for either a dine-in or takeout meal, to collect a stamp on their Food Crawl Passport.

Delivery not included.

Once five or more stamps are collected, participants can turn in their completed Passport for the chance to win one of the 25 gift card prizes totaling $2,500.

Like the Sidewalk Sale program, diners who collect 10 stamps double their chances of winning.

HBA will announce 25 winners by Nov. 22, who will each receive a $100 gift certificate to the participating eatery of their choice.

Eateries include Arthurs, Benny Tudinos, Carlos Bakery, Vito’s Italian Deli, La Isla Restaurant, Seven Valleys, and Shaka Bowl, to name a few.

Passports are available at all participating locations while supplies last or can be downloaded at hobokenalliance.com.
