LAWRENCE JOSEPH ANDERSEN

A Mass of Christian burial was offered Nov. 4 at Our Lady of Mercy Church for Lawrence Joseph Andersen, 86. He passed away on Oct. 31 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City he was a lifelong resident. He served in the US Army from 1955-1957. He was an Electrical Engineer for Western Electric and then later with AT&T, retiring in 2000, after 40 years of service. He was a family man who enjoyed road trips, spending time outdoors, fixing small projects and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Jean (nee Pompeo) Andersen. He was the father of Christine Gillen (Joseph), Lisa Young (the late Joseph) and Gina Gatta (Anthony); grandfather of Jennie, James, Joseph Patrick, Joseph Brian, Carissa, Elizabeth, and Genna.
