How to get a COVID-19 test

Residents with a prescription and an appointment can be tested at Bayonne Medical Center.

The RiteAid at 54th Street and Broadway offers free testing for all residents over 18 via drive-thru.

Visit riteaid.com to register. Residents do not need to be symptomatic, nor do they need a prescription.

CityMD on Route 440 offers COVID-19 tests for walk-ins only.

CityMD and Bayonne Medical Center are conducting antibody testing. Residents should call 2-1-1 for a list of testing sites throughout the state.

Davis supports local businesses

Mayor James Davis continues to visit businesses that make the city “#BayonneStrong.” He visited Luciano’s SanVito on Nov. 17 and Giovanni’s on Nov. 19.

Toy Drive

The Mayor’s Toy Drive will be held at the Bayonne Museum at 229 Broadway on Dec. 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Held in conjunction with the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation, toy and monetary donations will be accepted. Make checks payable to BEOF.

Alleged graffiti artist arrested

Angel Ortiz was taken into custody from his residence under the authority of two failure-to-appear bench warrants, one out of Bayonne and one out of Jersey City.

Ortiz was charged with four counts of criminal mischief for numerous reported incidents of graffiti after an investigation conducted by the Bayonne PD Detective Bureau identified him as the alleged actor.

On Oct. 17, three victims reported spray-painted graffiti to their properties at 375 Broadway, 202 Broadway, and 201 Broadway.

On Oct. 20, a victim reported graffiti to property at 317 Avenue C. All four victims reported the same spray-painted image which was allegedly traced to Ortiz.
