I didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 but I was glad he beat Hillary. I was glad because she was a known warmonger and he was an unknown. Because Hillary, Secretary of State under Obama and Biden, wanted confrontation with Russia, she maneuvered the overthrow of the elected president of Ukraine, leading to the bloodshed and misery which still persists there. She overthrew the elected president of Honduras, causing thousands to seek refuge at our southern border. She and NATO ousted Ghaddafi of Libya. Chaos exists there now. She helped foment a “civil war” in Syria to oust Assad, its popular leader; wrecked that country and created thousands of refugees that have destabilized Europe.
Trump, on the other hand, wanted to get out of NATO, a Cold War relic. He called the Mideast wars stupid. He wanted friendly relations with Russia. He vowed to drain the Washington “swamp” (aka the Deep State). So, for all these reasons I was glad he beat Hillary.
I didn’t vote for Trump in 2020, either, and I certainly didn’t vote for Biden, as guilty as Hillary in our imperial crimes. I didn’t vote for Trump because he has committed foreign policy crimes and stupidities of his own. But I did prefer Trump over Biden, because in four years Trump had not started any wars.
When America went to bed on election night, Trump was comfortably ahead of Biden in all the key states, but when we awoke…what? Biden had won?
As Stalin famously said, It doesn’t matter who votes, what matters is who counts the votes.
What matters, now, to Americans, is not which flawed puppet of the Deep State sits in the White House. What matters, now, is not a partisan issue. It’s a question of our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Our very Democracy. Serious allegations of voter fraud have been made and must be investigated, by the Supreme Court if necessary. We can not have a country where half the people believe the election was stolen.
