JAMES M. MULVANEY

A memorial service will be held at a later date for James F. Mulvaney, 88, of Avon-by-the-Sea. He died Dec. 3 in Venice, Fla. He was a proud 30-year veteran of the Jersey City Fire Department, a life member of the Jersey City Knights of Columbus 137 and a life member of the American Legion Post 346, Neptune. He was a Navy veteran and served on the USS Johnnie Hutchins from 1952-1954. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Anne’s Parish in the Jersey City Heights and a member of the St. Teresa of Calcutta Holy Name Society, Avon. Since retirement, he lived in Avon-by-the-Sea. He is survived by his long-time companion, Edith Crawford, two children and four grandchildren. Interment will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date due to COVID concerns.
