JOHN STALKNECHT

Private funeral services have been held for John Stalknecht. He passed away Dec. 13 at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. Joan, his wife of fifty-two years, and their sons, John and James, were at his side. John leaves behind his two daughters-in-law, Mary and Liz, his four grandchildren Mia, Jack, Ava and Michael who all brought him so much joy. He leaves behind his sisters-in-law, Barbara Mantineo , Patricia Drasheff and her husband, Gerald, and Roberta Stalknecht. He’ll be missed by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews who adored him. Mr. Stalknecht kept busy contributing to the township of North Bergen having served as a committeeman for many years and as aide to Commissioner Frank Garguilo. John was retired from the Hudson County Board of Elections where he served as Assistant Superintendent of Elections. Additionally, John was the owner of Dolan’s Bar in North Bergen where he spent many happy hours. Most importantly, John Stalknecht was a husband, a father and grandfather, and a man who held his extended family and many friends dear to his heart. He will be missed and remembered for his generous heart and quick sense of humor. Services arranged by the Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.
