On Jan. 1, at approximately 2:45 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of a possible stabbing victim found in the area of 333 Ocean Avenue in Jersey City, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Responding officers found a man with an apparent stab wound to his torso.
The victim, later identified as Tyrone Haskins, 39, of Jersey City, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center.
He was pronounced dead at approximately 3:20 a.m.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
