Funeral services were held Dec. 28 at Zion Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Margaret Gray. The daughter of Adeline Wright and Thomas Bennett, she was born on September 3, 1936 in Charleston, S.C. She passed away Dec. 15. Margaret received her formal education in the Public Schools of Charleston, S.C. Shortly after graduation she relocated to New York City. While living in New York she met James Gray and dated for a while before entering into Holy Matrimony. This marriage lasted for over twenty-five years until James Gray departed this world on March 6, 1991. Margaret worked in Bayonne for many years as a secretary for a private pickle company. She was dedicated to her job and committed to providing quality service. Margaret became a member of Zion Baptist Church in Jersey City over fifty plus years ago. She served as a member of the Usher Board. Two sons Melvin Tyrone Wright (Claudia) and Reverend Curtis Barney Bennett (Terry); Grandchildren – Tomeka Wright, Melvin Wright Jr, Curtis T. Bennett (Jenette), April Markholt (John) Jerrod Bennett, Avery Bennett and Demetrius Bennett; Great Grandchildren – Don Wright, Angel Clidieanna Wright, Essence Wright, Melanie Wright, Melvin Wright, Elijah Wright, Awjahney Markholt, Charlotte Markholt, Zion Bennett, and Esme Bennett; Nephews -Rodney Wright, Terry Wright (Melody); Sister-in-law-Ellen Shaw Wright and a host of other relatives and friends.
