MARGARET R. GERAGHTY

Funeral mass took place Jan. 23 at Our Lady of Victories Church, Jersey City, for Margaret R. Geraghty. She passed away on Jan. 17 at Community Hospital in Toms River. She was born to John and Florence Egan. Raised in Jersey City, Margaret lived there many years before moving to Cliffwood Beach and later retiring in Whiting NJ. Margaret is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roderick and son Roderick Jr. Margaret was preceded in death by her youngest son Steven Thomas. Margaret is survived by siblings Patricia Baber (Mike), Michael Egan (Joyce), Barbara Kearney (Jim), Maureen Bellia (Gino) and daughter-in-law Deborah. “Aunt Marge” was adored by many nieces and nephews. Before her status as domestic goddess, Margaret worked in retail and also for Jersey City Public Schools. She enjoyed many “sister” trips to Atlantic City and Florida. Margaret would find a friend no matter where she went, and if she didn’t, she would soon make a new one. Some would say “she would talk to a rock.” Her warm personality and beautiful heart will be missed by all who knew her. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
