A funeral mass was offered Feb. 3 at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Jersey City, for Rosalie Daniels, 100, a long-time Jersey City resident. She passed away Jan. 21. A member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church for over 80 years, she was a Eucharistic Minister and Rosary Altar Society member, bringing Holy Communion to the homebound and volunteering at the Jersey City Soup Kitchen. She also volunteered as a poll worker and at the Danforth Avenue Senior Citizen Center. Rosalie was named Jersey City NAACP Senior Honoree in 2013, and last November she received a Centenarian recognition from Pope Francis and a Citation from the mayor of Jersey City. She is survived by her children: Diana Daniels-Maina and Jeanette Daniels; grandchildren Dr. Linda Daniels, Terrace Daniels, Patrice Maina, and Quonda Cobbs-Maina; great-grandchildren Teresha, Malik, Matthew, Riley, and Aiden; great-great grandson, Jeremiah; and scores of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and was predeceased by her husband, George; sons-in-law, Patrick Maina and Noel Williams; and 32 siblings. Services arranged by the Jackson Funeral Residence of Jersey City.
