Funeral services took place Feb. 16 at SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Jersey City, for Bogdan Lakhotskiy, 74, of Jersey City. He passed away with his wife by his side on Feb. 11. Born in Bovshiv, Halych, Ukraine, he was a skilled carpenter who built a home for his daughter. Bogdan brought precision and excellence to every project he undertook. In 1992, he emigrated to the United States, where he became a faithful parishioner of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and a member of the Ukrainian National Home. He enjoyed traditional Ukrainian music and food, as well as spending time with his family. Bogdan is survived by his wife, Bogdana; his daughter, Oxana and her husband, Vasyl with granddaughter Halyna and her husband, Oleksii and their son, James with granddaughter Dana and her husband Michael; his son, Vasyl and his wife, Olha with granddaughter, Maryana and grandson, Bogdan; his son, Roman and his wife, Aleksandra with grandsons, Roman Jr. and Andrew; his brother, Ivan and his wife, Myroslava with their family. Bogdan was preceded in death by his parents, Vasyl and Anna, and his brother, Roman. Services arranged by the Riotto Funeral Home and Cremation Company, Jersey City.
