A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Feb. 12 at St. Nicholas Church for Michael Piscitelli, 65, of Jersey City. He passed away Feb. 6 at Christ Hospital. Born and raised in Jersey City, Michael remained a native, raising his family in Jersey City as well. Michael owned FMR racing stables with his brother Frank and Big Bob Sarao. He worked at H & H Purveyors in Carlstadt and later at Bert Posess Meat Wholesalers in Paterson where he was affectionately known as the “Meat Man”. Michael would light up a room upon entering, he was funny and generous and always kept everyone laughing and smiling. A fabulous cook he loved to make Italian food for his family, including the fish and crabs he would catch when going out on a boat at the Jersey Shore. A true Yankees fan, he loved sports betting and long nights at the racetrack. Above all else, Michael loved his family and his beloved dogs Max and Frankie and his grand fur babies Chloe and Zax. He was predeceased by his parents, Vincenzo and Gaetana Piscitelli and brother Frank. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Emelia (Suarez) Piscitelli, son Michael Piscitelli and daughter Grace Piscitelli. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
