A Jersey City man, 53, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a boy, 15, who was in his care when the assault allegedly took place.
According to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, Francisco Espinal is charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault, a crime of the first degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a crime of the second degree; Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact, a crime of the third degree; and Hindering Apprehension, a crime of the third degree.
The victim was in the custodial care of Espinal when the alleged assault occurred earlier this month, according to the HCPO.
Espinal was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on March 18.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest.
A detention hearing for Espinal is tentatively scheduled for March 24.
The above charges are merely accusations. Espinal is presumed innocent until proven guilty
