The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a Jersey City boy, 16, who was fatally shot March 29 in the vestibule of a building on Bergen Avenue near Dwight St. in Jersey City.
According to a press release from the HCPO, on March 29, just after 10:30 p.m., Jersey City police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 83 Bergen Ave. in Jersey City.
Officers found Kaheem Taylor who had sustained gunshot wound(s) to the upper body.
He was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 11:15 p.m.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
No arrests have been made at this time.
