As the man, later identified as Hoboken resident Tony Watson, 55, approached Figueroa, the detective identified himself as a police officer and ordered him to stop.

Watson stopped running when ordered to.

Once additional police officers arrived, Watson was arrested and charged with possession of Burglary Tools, Burglary, and Simple Assault after he had allegedly used the tools to enter a local building and allegedly pushed a woman to the ground after she saw what he was doing and tried to stop him.

Watson was processed and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Center.

The charges are merely accusations. Watson is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
