Time to get Vaccinated

The Coronavirus has been taking its toll on our country for more than a year. The most important step that we can all take to defeat that disease is to get vaccinated.  More than 24,000 Bayonne residents have been vaccinated.  That is less than half of Bayonne’s population.  We need to get several thousand more residents vaccinated, in order to defeat the Coronavirus in Bayonne.

Last week, the City of Bayonne established a large, new vaccination site at the Korpi Ice Rink that is located behind Bayonne High School.  We chose the Ice Rink, because it is large enough to accommodate large numbers of people. Bespoke Health is operating this facility.  The City of Bayonne invited Bespoke Health here, in order to vaccinate more residents and offer additional choices to local healthcare consumers. We look forward to working with Bespoke Health to improve Bayonne’s vaccination rate at this crucial time.

Bespoke Health is booking vaccine appointments for Bayonne residents through a telephone call center. The call center is at your service every week from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.  In order to make an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine at the Bayonne High School Ice Rink, please call 201-537-4818.

These appointments began on Wednesday, April 14. The site will be open Monday-Fridays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  The schedule will be adjusted as needed.  Time slots will be offered to Bayonne residents who contact the Bespoke Health call center, which is separate from all other Coronavirus vaccine services in Bayonne.  Please do not contact Bespoke Health about other vaccination services or locations.

Derek Rapisarda, President of Bespoke Health, said, “We are thrilled to be working with the City of Bayonne on their vaccination program. We share Bayonne’s desire to vaccinate as many of its residents as possible, in a smooth and efficient manner to help put an end to this pandemic.”

Public health experts have stated that we need enough people vaccinated to get to what is called “herd immunity,” which means that the whole group of people is protected from the disease.  Our goal is to reach herd immunity by vaccinating the overwhelming majority of Bayonne’s population.

Book your vaccination appointment Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by calling 201-537-4818 during those hours. Thank you for doing your part for a healthier Bayonne. For you, for me, and for the City of Bayonne, get vaccinated!
