Hoboken begins vaccinating youth

Hoboken is expanding vaccination efforts and will now offer residents ages 12-15 the Pfizer vaccine with Medicine Man Pharmacy, following new guidance from the FDA and emergency use approval.

“The ability for children ages 12-15 to get vaccinated is welcome news, and we are glad to partner with our local pharmacies to expand our clinics so our younger residents can protect themselves,” said Mayor Ravi Bhalla. “I encourage parents to assist their children in signing up for an appointment utilizing the options provided through the City.”

Medicine Man Pharmacy, Compounding, and the Hoboken Health Department will host vaccine clinics with the Pfizer vaccine (two-doses) or Johnson & Johnson vaccine (one-dose) at 605 Jackson Street on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday from 3 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m.

The Health Department and Medicine man are opening the vaccine clinic to all Hoboken residents ages 12 and older as well as Hoboken business employees.

Appointments are required, and can be scheduled at www.hobokennj.gov/medicinemanvaccine.

Children ages 12 to 16 must be accompanied by a guardian at the time of the vaccine and must select the Pfizer vaccine when scheduling the appointment.

For those over the age of 18 several walkup vaccine clinics are available this week.

On Thursday  Better Life Pharmacy and the Hoboken Health Department will vaccinate residents and Hoboken business employees at the community room at 221 Jackson St from 3 to 7 p.m. They will use the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and the Moderna vaccine.

On Friday Hoboken Family Pharmacy and the the Hoboken Health Department will vaccinate residents and Hoboken business employees at  605 Jackson St. between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.   They will also utse the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and the Moderna vaccine.

While appointments are not required, they can be made at  hobokennj.gov/hfpvaccine.
