Jersey City’s new vaccine site

The site is at the Maureen Collier Senior Center with Pfizer vaccines available for ages 12 and up, 335 Bergen Ave., weekdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Guardian consent is required for anyone under 18. Unaccompanied minors must bring an informed consent form signed by a parent or guardian. Download it at https://www.bespokehealthco.com/minor.

The Ferris High School site offers youth vaccines, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

North Bergen police will crack down on unbuckled motorists as part of the national “Click it or Ticket” campaign from May 24 to June 6.

Jersey City man sentenced for wire fraud

Jersey City resident Ramon Herrera, a broker and financial adviser, was sentence to 27 months for participating in defrauding some 40 customers of a financial institution of $450,000.

Jersey City fatal shooting 

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of Stebbin Drew, 37, of East Orange in the area of the City Crossings Apartments parking lot at Merseles Court and Bright St. in Jersey City.

Hoboken flood mitigation

To mitigate flooding, the North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA) is constructing a pumping station and two-story electrical and mechanical building at the Northwest Resiliency Park.

It will also build a sewer pipeline along 13th St. from Adams to Madison streets, and a main sewer pipeline along 13th St. from Jefferson to Adams streets.

Jersey City man sentenced to five years 

Jamel Armfield, 20, of Jersey City, convicted of three felonies, was sentenced to 60 months in prison for illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition in connection with a June 24, 2020, Jersey City shooting.

Armfield fired nine rounds at a moving vehicle on Gates Ave. from a .45 caliber Springfield Armory semi-automatic handgun.

Jersey City death investigated

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a man, 47, found in his Griffith St. apartment between Summit and Central avenues.

Son of Jersey City murder victim arrested 

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and Jersey City Police Department arrested Terrance Nelson, 29, at his mother’s home at 18 Virginia Ave., wanted for the death of his mother, Jacqueline Nelson, 60.

Nelson is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
