The Bayonne Division of Recreation has announced the Bike Club will return this summer.
Open to Bayonne residents only, the club will meet the second and fourth Sundays of the month, from July to October. Cyclers will meet at 10 a.m. at Stephen Gregg Park, near 48th Street at the lower level.
The club was founded last year, amid the pandemic. Cycling provided a great opportunity for residents to exercise and socialize outdoors amid virus restrictions.
“We encourage everyone, children, teens, adults, friends, and families, to come out together as a community and simply enjoy a pressure-free bike ride through Bayonne’s beautiful park,” said Pete Amadeo, Supervisor of Recreation.
A different course will be determined each session. The Bayonne Police Department will ride each week with the club.
Participants must wear helmets while riding. Beginners and experienced riders of all ages are welcome.
Planned Bike Club dates include July 11 and 25; August 8 and 22; September 12 and 25; and October 10. September 25 will be the club’s Night Ride, but a time has not yet been announced.
Residents can register for the club at City Hall, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents can also register the morning of each ride at the park.
There is no registration fee. For more information, call Pete Amadeo at 201-858-6129 or email BAYONNEREC@aol.com
