The Kennedy Dancers Return to Public Performances

×

The Kennedy Dancers Professional Repertory Company of Jersey City have announced their return to live performances after many months of COVID-19 isolation,
Zoom Classes & Performances.

Kennedy Dancers returned to in-person rehearsals under the direction of Diane
Dragone on April 13 in preparation for four live performances in Jersey City and
Hudson County Parks.

“The pandemic has stretched our choreographic muscles, creating some new works for
the audience to enjoy, including choreographies in Modern, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, and
Ethnic styles in dance that will be presented in this showcase series,” the company said in a statement.

“Joining us on these performances are these incredibly talented and accomplished
dancers. Returning to the Kennedy Dancers Repertory Company are Kathryn Reese
and Eli Cano along with new members Anna Antongiorgi, Abigail Dias, and Nik
Palivoda.

“Additionally, members of the Award-Winning Kennedy Dancers Inner City Youth Pre-
Professional Company will be performing their new choreographies. These young women and men train weekly and attend rehearsals with the professional company to
enhance their development as performers and artists. They are all scholarship students.
Kennedy Dancers Summer Dancing in the Parks is choreographed by Diane
Dragone, Artistic Director, with contributing choreographies by rehearsal director
Kathryn Reese.”

Among the choreographies is a tribute to the great Duke Ellington, featuring “Harlem
Nocturne”, “In A Sentimental Mood” and “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore” with live
accompaniment by Michael Browne on Guitar and Vocals.
Also featuring are additional choreographies, “Calling God”, “Not So Lovely”, and “In The
Heights”, and “That’s Life.”
