Union City men face narcotics charges

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, on June 15, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force executed a search at 1112 Palisade Ave., Unit 1A in Union City, leading to the seizure of nearly 92 grams of cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Charlie Carmona, 34, was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute heroin, Possession with Intent to Distribute cocaine Within 500 feet of a park, Possession with Intent to Distribute heroin Within 500 feet of a park, Possession with Intent to Distribute cocaine Within 1,00 feet of a school, Possession with Intent to Distribute heroin Within 1,000 feet of a school, two counts of Conspiracy to Distribute Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Javier Fong-Martinez, 30, was charged with two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS heroin, two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute cocaine Within 500 feet of a park in violation, one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute heroin Within 500 feet of a park, two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute cocaine Within 1,00 feet of a school, Possession with Intent to Distribute heroin Within 1,000 feet of a school, two counts of Conspiracy to Distribute CDS, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the Hudson County Regional SWAT Team and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit, with the investigation and arrests.

The above charges are merely accusations. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
