Vaccinations required for Hoboken table tennis

The Play! Hoboken club has announced that starting September 1, customers will have to provide proof of vaccination to enter the Play! Hoboken and Hoboken Table Tennis Club Wednesdays and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (except on September 18).

North Bergen Virtual Adult Book Club

The current selection of the North Bergen Free Public Library’s Virtual Adult Book Club is “Of Women and Salt” by Gabriela Garcia.

The next virtual meeting is at 3 p.m. Sept. 15. Register at nbpl.org/event/september-adult-book-club/.

Pickup is available at the main library and at the Guttenberg Resource Center. The e-book is available on Libby.

Get your Jersey City library card! 

The Jersey City Free Public Library is joining the American Library Association for Library Card Sign Up Month this September. Residents can sign up for a card at www.jclibrary.org/library-card/library-card-application.

Union City skate park to reopen 

The Argelio “Pete” A. Marrero Morales Skate Park will reopen on Sept. 10 at 39th Street. Free music, hot dogs, popcorn, water, rides, and activities offered.

Guttenberg tax bills due

Third quarter property tax bills have been mailed. The bill can be paid at https://tax.munidex.info/guttenberg-nj-0903 from the main page of the township website, or payments can be mailed.

The grace period is through Sept. 15.

Secaucus celebrates Latin American dance 

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, residents can enjoy an evening of Latin American dance at Buchmuller Park at 150 Plaza Center at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 8.

Union City offers mortgage assistance 

To be eligible for this program, applicants must be Union City residents who can prove that they suffered an economic loss because of COVID-19. Owner-occupied properties of up to three-family residences are eligible.

Applications can be submitted to City Hall at 3715 Palisade Avenue between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until Sept. 30, or by appointment. Applications and required documents can be emailed to UnionCityAssistance@nwfinancial.com.
