The slate is backed by the Jersey City Education Association union, which has previously endorsed candidates on the slate.

The “Change For Children” slate includes Erika Baez, a former PTA President of P.S. 26 who serves on the Jersey City Reopening Committe; Thyson T. Halley, an advocate for those who are deaf and students with special needs; and Doris “Toni” Ervin, an adjunct professor at HCCC. The slate was  backed by in 2019 by Fairer NJ, a super PAC that is tied to the LeFrak Organization, a property developer.
