Annual Help Bag Hunger

Mayor James Davis, City Councilman At-Large Juan Perez, and Fire Chief Keith Weaver bagged groceries on Sept. 17 and reminded folks to make a donation to the BEOF Food Pantry at ShopRite.

COVID-19 on the rise

As of Sept. 16, there were 81 active cases, up from 57 as of Sept. 9. As of Sept. 16, there was one hospitalization at Bayonne Medical Center, down from two as of Sept. 9.

Get vaccinated

Get the jab at the Korpi Ice Rink behind Bayonne High School at 669 Avenue A. Pfizer will be given on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for anyone over age 12. Moderna will be given only on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for adults over 18. Walk-ins welcome, no appointment needed.

Get tested

Rapid and regular COVID-19 testing is available at the Bayonne Museum at 229 Broadway on Thursdays from 1 to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Library returns to full hours

The Bayonne Public Library is now open for full hours, Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except holidays.

Michael Kostelnik remembered 

Mayor James Davis offered his condolences on the death of Michael Kostelnik: “Michael was a serious student of the American Revolution. … He served as Treasurer of the Bayonne Historical Society for several years. In the 1990s, Michael managed a local boys rock band. I would like to extend sympathy to Michael’s family, friends, and colleagues.”
