Prosecutor’s Office investigating officer-involved shooting in Bayonne

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office (HCPO) is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Bayonne on Sept. 28.

“Please be advised that this morning’s shots fired and vehicular pursuit incident is being investigated by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office,” said Police Capt. Eric Amato in a statement. “All requests for information of any sort must be made through that agency.”

In a tweet posted at 7:01 a.m, the HCPO said: “The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating an Officer Involved Shooting that occurred just before 4:30 am in Bayonne in the area of Hobart Ave. and East 5th Street. This is still an active scene. More info to follow.”
