“Daily Dose of Danger” Halloween Single Drops October 31st at Midnight

×

“Daily Dose of Danger” is an alternative experimental track featuring moody synthesizers, low fi filtering, ukulele, and haunting vocals. This eerily ambient track is dropping midnight on All Hallow’s Eve, that singular day of the year when everyone could use a dose of danger.

Ævina is especially excited to share this song because of the amazingly accomplished people she was able to work with producing, mixing and mastering it. Mike Rachlin created the backing track from Ævina’s simple ukulele chords and Pete Doell of Miles Davis, Toto, Céline Dion and The Beach Boys fame mastered the final product to perfection.

This song arose in the midst of the pandemic, when Ævina found herself single and creeping ever closer to the edge of what Freud called the “death drive”. As the song states: “I know what to do if my aim was safety solely. But all that eschewed, the hell with you feels so holy… to flirt with death.” This track addresses connections she found that were “not love but stranger” – attraction to darkness, chaos, and, at times, death herself.

Having graduated from NYU in 2015 with a BA in Sociology, Ævina’s music is lyric-focused and genre-fluid. This marks her third single independently released since the pandemic forced her to take stock of her belongings, uncovering songs she wrote in the throes of teen angst which she “actually doesn’t hate.”

The moment she decided to release said songs, (40) new songs came spilling out of her, “Daily Dose of Danger” being one of them.

Ævina is Jersey City based artist and musician, with roots throughout NYC’s boroughs, as well as New Jersey’s greenery. “Daily Dose of Danger” will be released on all platforms October 31st, 2021 at 12:00am.
